AG-00 / Agency delivery support · React architecture · Hands-on leadership

Temporary senior React leadership for agencies delivering complex frontend products.

I join active delivery teams to establish technical direction, implement difficult areas, and help junior and mid-level developers make stronger decisions—without becoming a permanent approval bottleneck.

When agencies bring me in

The need is usually temporary and specific. A delivery team has enough product work and engineering capacity to move, but important frontend decisions need a senior owner for a defined phase.

  • A new React project is beginning without a dedicated frontend technical lead.
  • A client delivery has architectural uncertainty across modules, state, integrations, testing, or shared UI.
  • The agency is adding junior or mid-level developers faster than senior frontend context can spread.
  • One senior engineer has become the only dependable source of frontend decisions.
  • A legacy frontend needs modernization while feature delivery continues.
  • A proposal or discovery phase needs credible frontend technical direction.
  • The agency needs senior support for a limited project phase rather than a permanent hire.

What I contribute

Technical direction

React and frontend architecture, technical refinements, risk identification, and short architecture decision records make the important trade-offs visible before they spread through implementation.

Representative implementation

I implement difficult or representative areas so proposed boundaries, testing conventions, reusable modules, and component patterns are proven in working code.

Delivery review

Pull-request review, pairing, and technical refinement connect feedback to the reason behind a decision. Testing strategy, Storybook, shared components, and module conventions are introduced where the product actually needs them.

Ownership transfer

Documentation, reusable examples, handover, and gradually wider developer responsibility keep the engagement from becoming a permanent dependency.

How I work with agencies

  • Remote collaboration inside the agency's existing delivery cadence and Agile team.
  • Direct work with frontend and backend developers, QA, product, design, architecture, and DevOps roles.
  • Collaboration behind the agency brand when that delivery model is appropriate.
  • Respect for client confidentiality, NDAs, and the agency's communication boundaries.
  • Technical recommendations explained in terms the delivery and product team can act on.
  • A defined first scope with an explicit handover, continuation, or expansion decision.

The engagement provides technical leadership, not line management or developer performance evaluation. The focus is stronger decisions inside real delivery.

Relevant proof: insurance portal team enablement

Situation

A large insurance customer-portal reengineering programme combined junior, mid-level, and senior frontend engineers with backend, QA, product, and architecture stakeholders. Delivery continued while frontend conventions and team ownership needed to become stronger.

Contribution

The work combined architecture guidance, hands-on implementation, technical refinements, pull-request review, pairing, reusable modules, shared component patterns, Storybook, and practical Jest and React Testing Library conventions.

Team-enablement impact

Junior and mid-level developers became more independent in breaking down requirements, selecting the correct architectural layer, creating reusable components, writing tests, and raising maintainability risks earlier.

At one documented stage, frontend unit-test coverage reached approximately 90%. That figure is bounded to the engagement and is not a promise for another team.

Modernizing an Insurance Customer Portal with Micro-Frontends and 90% Test Coverage

Situation
A customer-facing insurance portal needed a more modular frontend architecture that could support independent teams and long-term product growth.
Contribution
Micro-frontend and hexagonal architecture practices, reusable modules, Storybook, testing conventions, technical refinements, reviews, and developer guidance.
Outcome
Approximately 90% frontend unit-test coverage at a documented stage, stronger reuse and consistency, reduced coupling, and a more maintainable delivery foundation.

A defined agency engagement

1. Fit call

We confirm the client context, team shape, delivery phase, decision ownership, and whether temporary React leadership is the right intervention.

2. Context and risk review

I review the relevant product, repository, architecture, delivery constraints, and stakeholder responsibilities without turning discovery into an open-ended audit.

3. Defined initial scope

The first scope names the technical decisions, implementation responsibility, working cadence, handover expectation, and evidence of progress.

4. Hands-on implementation and leadership

I lead the decisions, implement difficult or representative areas, and work with developers through refinements, pairing, and review.

5. Handover, continuation, or expanded scope

We transfer ownership, continue where the support still creates value, or define a new scope deliberately. Extension is never assumed.
